Back in UK he was posted to the 662 Coy Reserve Depot, based at Park Royal, London not far from his home in Wood Green. Charles was severely reprimanded twice and admonished once for being absent.

Embarked H.T. “Centrian” at Devonport on 26 Jan 16 and Disembarked in Salonica on 11 Feb 16 and joined the 34th Reserve Park. He was admitted to hospital with Pyrexia <fever> in Sep 16, then in March 16 was admitted to hospital with malaria. In March 18 he was admitted to 63 General Hospital with malaria and transferred to Convalescent Depots before preceding to UK under Y Scheme. Embarked for UK at Itea on 21 May 18 and travelled via Taranto, Italy. Disembarked at Southampton from “SS South Western Miller” and posted to 662 Coy at Park Royal. On the Causality form was written - “Note Malaria case – not available for a theatre of war where Malaria is prevalent”.

Back in the UK he join the 662 Coy at Park Royal. Corporal Charles Moule was attending hospital in September 1918 but went absent for three days and was severely reprimanded. He went absent again in October but this time he was tried by District Court Marshall and sentenced to be reduced to the ranks and to undergo detention for 28 days. Sentence confirmed but Award of Detention remitted.

He, with another labourer, were wheeling an iron barrow along a plank when they fell 18 feet through an opening to the third floor. They were taken to West London Hospital, where Charles Moule , 53, of Adelaide-road, Shepherd’s Bush, died from his injuries.
At the inquest held at Hammersmith the jury returned a verdict of “Accidental death.”
