Known as Smiler, started every day with a raw egg! John George could and did play many stringed instruments his favourite being a banjo ukulele sadly he did not often use his musical skills in the home. He apparently also had a good singing voice. The children were encouraged to use any artistic skills. One brother was even allowed to practice drawing and painting on the inside of cupboard doors.
